Why We Do It …<\/h3>\n

Whilst studying clinical canine behaviour, I came to the realisation that no matter how reactive, nervous, recovering, or misunderstood a dog may be, they all share the same fundamental need: to feel safe, understood, and able to experience the world in a way that builds confidence rather than fear. Every dog deserves the opportunity to enjoy their walks, engage with their environment, and thrive as an individual. That belief became the foundation upon which Hound Solo was built.<\/p>\n

Hound Solo was born from a simple idea that dog walking should never be a one-size-fits-all service. We don’t believe in squeezing dogs into a system that suits the walker. Instead, we build every walk around the dog.<\/p>\n

Over the years I’ve seen too many dogs marched around in large packs by overstretched walkers. While that approach may work for some dogs, it can overwhelm many others and, in some cases, contribute to long-term behavioural challenges. I wanted to offer something different, something that genuinely puts the individual dog first.<\/p>\n

With decades of hands-on experience working with dogs of every size, temperament, and background, I’ve learned that success comes from listening to them, understanding their language, instincts, motivations, and individual needs. That’s why Hound Solo is built entirely around one-to-one walks, tailored stimulation, and a deep respect for each dog’s unique personality.<\/p>\n

I’ve made it my mission to build a service rooted in trust, skill, and real-world expertise. Every member of my team is hand-selected from thousands of applicants, chosen not only for their passion, but for their practical experience handling their own breeds and working within the animal industry. They are DBS checked, trained in canine first aid, and united by the same commitment to quality and safety that drives everything we do.<\/p>\n

My own learning journey continues today. I am currently studying towards a Level 6 Diploma in Clinical Canine Behaviour, allowing me to combine practical, real-world experience with evidence-based behavioural science to better understand and support the dogs entrusted to our care..<\/p>\n
